Jason Isaacs
Jason Isaacs was introduced to firearms at a young age by his father, a combat military veteran of the Vietnam War. Upon entering high school, Jason joined his school’s JROTC rifle team, and eventually became the team’s captain. During his time on the rifle team, he received the expert marksmanship medal for small bore three position and competed in a state wide event held at the University of Florida in 1992.
After leaving high school and continuing his education, Jason maintained his passion for the shooting sports, spending as much time at his local gun range as he could. His early training came from a Ruger .22 that his father gave him. As his interest in other calibers grew, he became proficient in several types of semi-automatics and revolvers. If you ask him which of his guns is his favorite, he would tell you it’s the Colt .45 Commander Lightweight 1911.
Jason decided not to compete in events after high school, to quote him “competing takes the fun out of it for me, makes it feel more like work.” Becoming a concealed weapons permit holder sparked something in him. Reading news stories about accidental discharges due to inexperience and consequently children being shot made him very frustrated. “There is no reason for this. It’s just ignorance that these things happen.” he would often say. Believing that firearm education is vital, he took his first steps to becoming an instructor and educator.
Jason is certified by the NRA to teach Basic Pistol Shooting course and First Steps Pistol Orientation.
Eric Bishard
A self-taught pistol shooter who has been shooting since the age of 10, Eric Bishard decided to take his craft to the next level from basic range shooting to IDPA where he has honed his craft and combined with conceal carry experience he is now here to pass that information along to the beginner in our Basic Pistol and Conceal Carry classes. Eric has trained with some of the best instructors and shooters in Central Florida and he brings that experience to the classroom. Eric has been developing his own conceal carry curriculum and is here to share that with the students of guns n ammo training. There are not that many new instructors in our business that have the understanding of how to teach the basics and conceal carry in a manner that will educate both beginners and avid shooters alike. Beginners have a lot to think about and sometimes it can be overwhelming. Eric breaks it down into its simplest components and makes learning about the pistol not only fun but teaches his students to use those core concepts and build on them to move from being just a student of the gun to being a safe and confident user. He can take even the most avid shooters in conceal carry classes and help them to understand the sometimes very confusing Florida law that dictates when, where and why they might needs to protect themselves and their families when the heat gets turned up and how to think on your feet when met with deadly force.
